Our Trip to Sirao Garden

Our fifth entry in this blog is our trip to Sirao Garden, also known as Sirao Flower Park, or Sirao Flower Farm, or Celosia Flower Farm in Sirao, or… well maybe the name has not yet been finalized 😉  When we arrived at the place, there were lots of cars parked at the road side (because they do not have a decent parking lot for the visitors yet) which makes it very hard to pass since there are also road side vendors and lots of people. We immediately parked at the very first space we saw and we thought we are already at Sirao Garden.  We went straight to their entrance gate, paid P20 per head, and realized that we are at the wrong garden. The gate says: Pictorial Garden and Mini Camping Site. hehehe… our bad.  My daughter Rei has tantrums since she just woke up and dragged to this very hot place.

In fairness, the view is breathtaking.  It’s been so long since I have viewed mountains and lots of trees.  And since we paid P20 for this view, might as well take some lovely pics.  Here is my sister Karen enjoying the heat of the sun.

After some pictures here and there, we immediately went out of the site and walked a bit to the actual Sirao Garden, and sadly paid another P20 per head. 😀  The place looks clean and lovely.  The pathways are safe even for my daughter who is currently wearing her heeled shoes.  They have tents for people who wants to rest, you can also order drinks and snacks such as tempura, fish balls, banana que, sweet corn, and lots of chips.  You can also buy souvenir items and toys (and that is the reason why Rei wants to go to the park and forgot about her tantrums).

We went there during a Black Saturday but they already have decorations for Easter Sunday.  Rei and Sai were both happy seeing all the bunny toys and Easter egg decors.  Here is my son Sai wearing her sister’s Hello Kitty blouse… he vomited on his shirt and… well, it’s a long story. hehehe…  Here is the gang, resting and waiting for food.

Since today is not its peak season (peak season for these Celosia flowers is around October I guess) there are only few pretty flowers around.  But there are lots of areas where you can take nice pictures.

And themed designs like this heart of flowers which was probably intended during the Valentines season.  I also noticed another setup is currently being constructed, it looks like a wagon of flowers.  My little boy is not in the mood for flower searching, he probably did not like the shirt he is wearing. hehehe…

And that’s it for our trip to Sirao Garden, the mini Amsterdam of Cebu.  We will surely be back.
