Our Trip to Bluewater Maribago

Our seventh entry in this blog is our trip to Bluewater Maribago Beach Resort in Buyong Road, Maribago, Lapulapu City.  We’ve been to this resort several times already, Rei celebrated her 2nd birthday here with the resort’s Barefoot Celebrations package way back in 2014 and Dave’s 30th birthday (also with their Barefoot Celebrations package) back in 2013.  So, yes, we love this place 🙂
This time, there is no event, no celebrations, just purely relaxation. Actually, I forgot to use the complimentary one night stay as an Indulgence member at Bluewaters, and the membership will expire this Friday! hehehe… So we are using it now, here in one of our fave resorts.
We stayed in one of their native-styled deluxe rooms. I like the capiz shell windows and the spacious private veranda. But it’s quiet dim which will always make you want to sleep more.  The kids didn’t mind, their only requirement is a big TV.  I personally prefer the Premier Deluxe Rooms which are contemporary in design, well-lighted and with a skylit bathroom, you have to see it yourself 🙂

We stayed in a room fronting the lagoon where the big fishes and baby sharks are. Rei loves this place, she wants to feed the fishes with her biscuits but it’s a no no since these fishes have scheduled feeding times and they do not allow guests to throw anything in to the waters.

My favorite area is the beach. Since the beach area is somewhat enclosed, water is always calm, safe for swimming specially for kids.  They also have a man-made white sand breakwater called the Bluewater Private Island.  It is a great place for private events such as weddings (as long as the weather is fine).  You can walk to the man-made island during low tide.  The moment we arrived at the resort, first thing we did was to visit the beach.  And here are Rei and Sai, forgot to change in their swimming suits and wants to dip in the waters immediately.

After our quick visit to the beach, we quickly changed in to our swimming attires and headed back to the beach and into the pool. I was not able to get a picture of the pool since I always do not bring with me my phone when planning to get wet, so I just left it in the room. Maybe in our next visit, I can bring someone to watch over my kids while I will be busy taking pics here and there. 🙂  After an hour of swimming, we dried ourselves and got ready for dinner. Getting ready means relaxing in the swing near the beach while watching the sunset.

We had our dinner at The Cove.  A live seafood restaurant that overlooks the Bluewater Private Island and the open sea. You can choose the lobsters and fishes from their seawater aquariums. Their meals are a bit pricey but very very delicious, definitely worth it.

After our dinner, we headed back to our rooms, watched more cartoon shows, and finally called it a night. zzzzz….
Morning came and we are ready for another hour (or more) of swimming! But before that, we had our breakfast buffet at the Allegro, the resort’s main restaurant. Here is Rei eating her yogurt, while Sai is eating the table. hehehe…

After breakfast, swimming time! No photos again! (I plan to bring my phone but it was “super lowbatt”, charging…) excuses!
So that concludes our stay. Will be visiting again soon 🙂
