Our 42nd entry in this blog is our trip to Kodomo No Kuni. It’s a Monday and we are sure that the park is not closed 🙂 Our first time to visit here was about 3 years ago with then Baby Rei (1 yr old Rei) and the park was closed because it was a Wednesday, hehehe… But now, everyone is excited!

Kodomonokuni Theme Park, “is an amusement park near Tokyo, located in Yokohama, Japan. The park’s name means Children’s Country. As the name implies, it is more oriented towards young children than teenagers. The park is approximately 240 acres, and includes such things as a children’s zoo, a boating lake, and a barbecue site” (-wiki).

We first went to the farm animals. Ate Rei and Sai was very excited to see Sheeps and Cows. We always see cows in the Philippines but these ones here are bigger. And for the sheeps, I think it is Sai’s first time to see one.

Next stop are the horses and ponies. There were 2 hungry horses waiting for us to feed them 🙂 This is also the first time we feed a horse. We usually just see them and look at them from afar. There are carrot sticks prepared in the nearby table for you to give to the horses, you’ll just have to deposit 100 yen per cup of yummy carrots.

Then we entered a mini zoo where more farm animals can also be seen. There were ducks, rabbits, hamsters, chickens, goats, peacocks, pigs, donkeys, and more.

The most exciting part of this trip is that we get to ride a horse! Not the carousel ones but a real horse. 🙂 And this is everyone’s first time to ride one, except for me, hehe… I opted to take their pictures and cheered for them 🙂

After all the farm animal visits, we took a break in their canteen and ate lunch. After that, we then proceed to the playground. Kodomo no Kuni is a kids’ paradise. It’s a 250 acre park with numerous activities and facilities that any child will enjoy. There are numerous playgrounds, a large outdoor pool, indoor ice skating rink, boating pond, sports fields, garden, BBQ area and much more!

You can ride a train inside the park and get off to different areas. Since the park is really huge, we rode the train to get to the boating pond. We rode 1 boat and paddled all over the lake and Rei and Sai was really really excited. Soon, when they are older to paddle for themselves, we will get 2 boats and race our way.

That’s our one happy day at Kodomo No Kuni. I’m pretty sure we will visit this place again. 🙂
