Our Trip to Odaiba

Our 60th entry in this blog is our trip to Odaiba in Tokyo, Japan… once again. Yay! The last time was 2 years ago with Tita Karen and Tito Dou.  Since we have lots of first timers in Japan, RaiRai, baby Rachel, and Dylan, we decided to visit this lovely and favorite place of ours. It started from Sai’s happy train ride from Disney Resort’s hotel (Tokyo Bay Maihama Resort).  From our overnight stay in Maihama, Odaiba is just minutes away.  Here we have Sai in his train seat, Papa Dave and Ate Rei arriving at Daiba and trying to find some place to eat.

At last we have decided to eat at a pirate-themed seafood restaurant: King of the Pirates (is that the name of the restaurant? I just can’t seem to remember).  We ordered lots for Sai but he did not eat anything, just playing with his car as as always.

While waiting for Tito Mellerz and Tito RC, we toured the Aqua City mall and stayed at Toys R Us for a while.  Ate Rei and Sai were amazed at how big the toy stores here!

Then we met our family friends and started to tour around Daiba on foot.  We took a photo at the famous NHK building where all the TV shows are being made, and the huge Gundam robot.  If you can see in our previous post 2 years ago, the Gundam statue was different -> https://wheredidwegoblog.wordpress.com/2016/05/22/our-trip-to-odaiba/ “What’s new about this Unicorn Gundam is that unlike its predecessor, it can switch between two modes – Unicorn and Destroyer – and you can catch the change a number of times each day. The Unicorn mode sees the Gundam with a single horn on its head, while the Destroyer mode reveals the statue’s hidden light panels.”

Next stop is the usual… History Garage Museum in Aomi’s Venus Fort Mall.  Sai is very much happy to see his favorite, cars!  But this time, its all vintage autos and race cars. “Walk-through exhibit areas are fashioned to resemble the streets of an Italian village in the 1960s, a small town in 1950s America and similar evocative settings.”  -whereintokyo.com

Then, we toured around Venus Fort Mall and ate our favorite Crepes.

Last stop is MegaWeb Toyota City Showcase.  Modern cars this time!  Here we have Ate Rei and RaiRai amazed by the modern cars display and wanted to own one someday.  Sai said that the green car looks like a shoe, and he wants one!

Our day ended at a cafeteria near the modern car showcase and the kids spent their resting times at a small and neat play area.

And that was it for our day in Odaiba. And again… until next time!
