Our 62nd entry in this blog is our trip to National Museum of Nature and Science in Ueno, Tokyo, Japan. This is everyone’s first time in this awesome museum. Here is Papa Dave, Rei, and Sai, all excited to go…

Located in the northeast corner of Ueno Park, the National Museum of Nature and Science is one of Japan’s biggest science museums, with over 10,000 exhibits that explore everything from outer space and dinosaurs to the unique ecosystems of Japan and the world’s latest advances in technology. (https://www.gotokyo.org/en/spot/140/). Here is Sai very excited to meet his favorite topic, dinosaurs!

The National Museum of Nature and Science is filled with authentic artifacts and interactive learning opportunities. And here is Ate Rei, also excited to meet her, as she always calls it, favorite pet: cheetah.

Aiming for “the coexistence of human race and nature,” the mission of the museum is to deepen the public appreciation of the earth, life, science and technology, and to encourage people to think about how humankind, the natural world, and science and technology should best relate to each other. Most of the displays are animal bones. I am also surprised about the bone structure of some animals like the snake, I have always wondered how a huge food can fit in its stomach considering that they also have bones… now I know. hehe 🙂

After an hour and a half of exploring the exhibits (but we are not yet done), we decided to eat at their restaurant named Mouseion. I like the food, japanese style. Ate Rei loves the fried ebi (shrimp).

We still have lots of floors to explore and we are running out of time! We should have been here from the moment the museum opened, but we arrived late. Here we have the group still exploring more and more bones. The exhibits are getting more exciting!

And so much more…

We completed the Global Gallery but not so much with the Japan Gallery. We ran out of time. We still have to go to Tokyo station area for another exploration activity. But we sure to be back and make sure that we will stay here from morning til night. hehehe. 🙂
