Our Trip to KidZania Manila

Our 86th entry in this blog is our trip to KidZania in BGC, Taguig City, Metro Manila.  This is everyone’s first time and we are so excited to get inside this huge play area.  From Wiki’s entry: “KidZania Manila is an indoor family entertainment center in Bonifacio Global City. It is a franchise of KidZania, a Mexican chain of family entertainment centers which allows children aged 4 to 17 to work in adult jobs and earn currency. KidZania Manila was opened to the general public on August 7, 2015 making it the 11th KidZania in Asia and the 20th in the world”.  Here is Ate Rei, Sai, and Papa D so ready to get inside.  To start, you have to check in at the Cebu Pacific check in counters and proceed to the Immigration Office for processing.  Isn’t that cool.  🙂

As soon as we got in, Rei and Sai were instructed/oriented about how bank works.  They were given initial budget of play money to spend in different stores or jobs or to deposit it in the bank to earn interest.  “Kids can learn to cash a check and open their own personal bank account, which comes with an ATM card, and start saving their kidZos to gain financial awareness and learn about the importance of saving. They may also work as a Banker and help Clients with their transactions, learning about effective communication, responsibility, customer service and honesty.” — manila.kidzania.com

Ate Rei and Sai’s first job is to be an actor.  They both wanted to dance on stage and hurried themselves up to look for costumes for their dance number.  “Kids get to train in a company of actors to learn the basics of performance and how the stage works by performing a live show in the Theater.”  — manila.kidzania.com.

They learn and rehearse a dance routine, developing self-confidence as they perform in front of a live audience in the theater.  Here is Sai…

And here is Ate Rei…  And they both received their very first salary.

Their next job is trying to be a Veterinarian.  Ate Rei asked for this as she dreams to be one someday.  “Animal lovers come to the Vet Clinic to be Veterinarians-In-Training, where they learn how to care for animals using adorable life-like pets. Here they will learn about proper pet care.” — manila.kidzania.com.  We are proud of little Sai as he is not afraid to face the stuffed pets who really looked like real cats and dogs.  Good job kiddos! 🙂

Next stop is baking at Goldilocks.  “Little Pastry Chefs can learn all about baking as well as food sanitation and preparation. They can then get creative and test those fine motor skills by decorating their own baked pastries with frostings and toppings to take home and enjoy.” — manila.kidzania.com.  For sure Ate Rei loved this as she gets to eat what she prepared.  And as for little Sai, he also enjoyed decorating his mini cake so much.  Just look at that cutie smile 🙂

Sai wants to try to be a Doctor, so he was assigned to be one of the Paramedics.  “As part of our brave paramedic team, the kids will respond to emergency calls within the city, perform first aid, and learn how to help save lives. They will also learn how to check a patient with the A-B-C approach, how to use a stethoscope, plus the ways to prevent injuries from happening.”  — manila.kidzania.com.  And look at our little boy here.  Making sure he listened to the instructions, and sure enough, when an emergency came up, he did not know what to do. hahaha 🙂  But hopefully he still wants to be a Doctor someday.

While Sai is working as a Doctor and attending to an emergency situation, Ate Rei wants to take care of babies.  She tried to be a Health Worker.  “There is lots to learn here about the basics of baby care and the gentleness required in caring for them. Children will learn about the importance of breastfeeding for babies and why early skin-to-skin contact benefits mothers and newborn babies. They will also learn practical skills such as holding babies properly, changing diapers and swaddling.” — manila.kidzania.com.  And indeed Ate Rei enjoyed her new job 🙂

Since we lacked time (we should have entered earlier), their last job is at Century Tuna plant as a Marine Conservationist. “Children discover what it’s like to be a Marine Conservationist and champion for the ocean and its resources. They will learn about the different threats to fish habitats such as pollution and illegal fishing methods, as well as their effects on marine life. They also learn about conservation efforts to better safeguard marine habitats and get to see some marine life up close in a living touch pool!” — manila.kidzania.com.

There are still a lot to discover inside KidZania.  We just did like 10% of the activities offered.  Sai still wants to be a firefighter and Ate Rei wants to try to fly an airplane.

Kidzania09

We really hope we can go back to KidZania to check the other jobs.  And before we end our day, Ate Rei and Sai are so happy with their new wallets.  They used this from their first job to the last safe-keeping the money they earned and deposited it to their bank accounts.

Until our next visit KidZania! 🙂
