Our Trip to Venice Grand Canal Mall

Our 87th entry in this blog is our trip to Venice Grand Canal Mall in Taguig City, Manila.   This is our first time to visit this Mall in Taguig.  We have visited a similar themed mall in Japan named Venus Fort in Aomi, Tokyo but that one has no canal and gondolas.  For me this is an interesting place, not the usual shopping mall feels.

Venice Grand Canal is a lifestyle mall development under Megaworld Lifestyle Malls in McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio Taguig City.  Awarded the Best Retail Architectural Design at the Philippine Property Awards in 2017, Venice Grand Canal is known for its design and architecture and is popularly considered as the “most romantic mall” in the country.

“Living up to its namesake, the mall sports an Italian-inspired architectural design inspired by the Grand Canal in the classical city of Venice, Italy. In designing the mall, Megaworld consulted the Rome-based architectural firm Paolo Marioni Architetto to ensure that the Venice Grand Canal Mall stays true to its Venetian inspiration.” — wiki.  Highlighting the mall is the man-made Grand Canal. The mall’s grand canal offers mall guests an Italian experience with gondola ride tours by singing gondoliers.

We were not able to try the gondolas since it is scorching hot this summer.  🙂  Maybe next time.  We came here to look for food before heading to our next stop, the Mind Museum.

Though we are in an Italian-inspired mall, we still opted to eat Filipino dishes. hehehe.  We tried the Buddy’s restaurant since we saw their label “Dito parang laging fiesta”. hehe… And that is it for our very quick tour of the Grand Canal Mall in McKinley Hills.  Until next time… 🙂
