Our Trip to Kodomo No Kuni

Our 120th entry in this blog is our trip to Kodomo No Kuni in Yokohama, Japan. We’ve been here before and would always love to go back. This park was officially opened on May 5th, oh! that’s Papa Dave’s birthday! It was opened on a national holiday of the Children’s Day in 1965.
Today, we met Papa Dave in the park after his jogging spree from our house to Kodomo No Kuni. It was a total of around 18km. Wow! Way to go Papa!

Ate Rei and Sai has always loved this park because of the many play areas around. And the park is so wide, even if there are lots of people, it can never get crowded.

So here is Papa Dave, Ate Rei, and little Sai going hand in hand to somewhere… to look for farm animals. Kodomo No Kuni is a type of natural-park of which the main purpose is to contribute to children’s sound mind and body. That’s from their brochure. And indeed is very true.

Ate Rei and Sai get to feed the sheeps and cows. They also learned about what they eat and what their poopoo looks like. hehe… We also went to the caged areas where there are goats, chickens, peacocks, pigs, and other farm animals.

Yay! Horse riding for Ate Rei. It’s not her first time though. But since she always forgets about past experiences, then this is always something new for her.

And of course, our little Sai should also have his own horse. This time, this is his first time riding alone. 🙂 Good job Sai!

We also rode a train around the park. It is so huge, that it is always helpful to ride one. 🙂 Another play area along the way, this makes for another pit stop.

And their favorite long slide, of course with matching long climb.

Last activity is the boating, or paddle boat. It’s gonna be dark soon so better hurry and paddle up! That was our quick visit to Kodomo No Kuni. As always, until next time! 🙂
