Our Trip to Tokyo DisneyLand

Our 128th entry in this blog is our trip to Disney Land in Tokyo (actually Chiba), Japan. This has been our favorite celebration place. And for this year, it is for Ate Rei’s 8th birthday. Advance birthday celebration πŸ™‚

It is a great and sunny day today! But still super freezing cold. It is our first time to visit on a winter season (because Ate Rei’s birthday is Dec 28). We usually come here during spring. So this is our first time to have a Christmas themed Disney Park.

Unfortunately, due to covid-19 pandemic, there has been little decors for Christmas and as well as limited ticket slots. Good thing we purchased early! πŸ™‚

Because only a few people are inside the park (supposedly… I still feel it is full packed though. hehe…) we did a lot of rides today compared to the normal days that we previously spent here. We started with the Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek! where we boarded a tram and search for the funny monsters. And then to Sai’s ever favorite Buzz Lightyear’s Astro Blasters where we boarded a space cruiser and blast away at the evil Emperor Zurg and his minions. There is also this new ride, The Happy Ride with Baymax where Nursebots pull vehicles that whirl you around in unexpected ways. But, during this time, it needs an Entry Request, like a lottery. Sadly we did not get it. But that’s ok, there’s always next time. πŸ™‚

There is this new place with Beauty and the Beast theme! Wow! I did not do any research of what is new in Tokyo Disney Land, and I am surprised to see this new addition. Very nice shops and structures. So what was in here before? I believe it was the race track. Our little Sai is quite sad ‘coz he missed the racing ride. But still, this new one looks exciting.

The Beauty and the Beast place is huge. There is also a new ride that needs another Entry Request. And we are so happy we got a slot. yay! Here we are waiting for our brand new ride! πŸ™‚

Another castle is in here! The Beast’s castle (aside from the Cinderella castle which is the centerpiece of Tokyo Disney Land). The details are so nice, I am in awe! πŸ™‚

We did the ride called the Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast where we boarded magical cups that seem to dance through this enchanting story. It is a must try! πŸ™‚

Then it’s time for our usual rides. hehe… “It’s a Small World”, as children of the world sing, enjoy the β€œhappiest cruise that ever sailed.” Followed by the Haunted Mansion (sorry no photos) where we ride through an eerie Gothic mansion with 999 ghostly inhabitants.

We headed to the Toon Park for these roller coaster addicts (not including me of course!). Ate Rei, little Sai, and papa Dave rode the Gadget’s Go Coaster, a Toon-size roller coaster, Gadget’s latest invention. While waiting for them to ride the coaster twice or thrice, I went on to take photos of the cute houses inside Toon Town.

The best place where we can rest our feet is the Mark Twain Riverboat ride where you can enjoy a leisurely trip down the Rivers of America.

A lot of rides followed such as the Western River Railroad, Pirate of the Caribbean, and Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions. Some of them have no more photos as I am saving my battery for some night shots. hehe πŸ™‚

During the night, never ending rides are still happening: Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, Castle Carrousel, and Alice’s Tea Party. We also did the Snow White’s Adventures, Peter Pan’s Flight, and Pinnochio’s Daring Journey. Whew! That’s a lot dude! πŸ™‚

Well I guess the very main reason why we did a lot of rides today is that the park did not have its lights parade. I’m quite sad about that… I love the lights parade. But they said it will still have the fireworks so we are waiting for it.

The shops are so nice at night. Very well lighted. We really enjoyed staying outside despite the freezing temperatures πŸ™‚ We went out of the park, ending our visit, and we headed to a nearby hotel to rest our poor poor feet.

The next day, we visited nearby shops, Sai bought a new T-Rex. Ate Rei bought a buttercup sling bag and the pooh headband she bought yesterday. We rode the train and see other parts of the park, that’s what we usually do to kill time and wait for lunch. πŸ™‚

And that was our trip to Tokyo Disney Land amidst the pandemic. I’m happy the kids got to get out and see their favorite Disney peeps πŸ™‚ Until next time.
