Our 145th entry in this blog is our trip to Legoland in Nagoya, Japan. This is our first time to visit this theme park and our first time to be in Nagoya and Ate Rei and Sai’s first time to ride a bullet train. Yay! A lot of firsts in this trip π

LEGOLAND Japan Resort is a theme park providing a full day of fun and excitement for children aged 2 through 12 and their families. I think even older kids will really enjoy the park. It is small but we did not even try out all the rides because it opens quite late at 10AM and closes very early at 4PM. hehe… Still, the whole family can enjoy the many rides, LEGO models to play and build with, and interactive, adventurous attractions themed on the Lego block world.

The place is surrounded by lego creations. Sai is very happy to see Lego Dinosaurs. They are made with hundred thousands lego parts. That is amazing! There are also lots of attractions, workshops, restaurants, and gift shops.

The first ride we did is the Observation Tower. The observation tower is 60 meters high and offers a fantastic view over the entire LEGOLAND Japan. This is the first thing you will notice as you walk in to Bricktopia area. Here you will see 360 degree views over the entire park as the tower slowly rotates. You can also see the skyline of Nagoya city, as well as itβs iconic coast line.

One of our basic faves is the twirly twirly ride. It is called Brick Party. Designed for the youngsters but with room for the whole family itβs one you can enjoy together. This always makes us dizzy, but all the more fun! π

Just look at our scores here in Lost Kingdom Adventure. Themed to the LEGO Adventurers Egypt LEGO set, in this exciting indoor ride you will jump on-board a dessert off-roader vehicle and explore ancient ruins while searching for and try to recover stolen treasures. There is a laser gun that is attached to the front of the cart, you ride down the track and earn points shooting your way through the many scenes. π

This Legoland park is not that big but we are thankful that there is no crowd today. We can easily ride the attractions without much lines. And very easy for social distancing as we are still in pandemic time.

We had our lunch at Brick House Burgers. This is an awesome hamburger shop in LEGO city. The burgers are yummy and the fries are being formed as legos. hehe π

Driving School is also one of our favorite stops. After watching a road safety video, Ate Rei and Sai jumped in their very own electric car where they then drive around a realistic circuit before being rewarded with their very own driverβs license at the end. The ride has been made to replicate real world driving conditions with roundabouts, traffic lights and other signals that have rules they must obey. Kids feel so grown up driving their own cars π
The plane ride is called City Airport. Aspiring young pilots can fly their very own DUPLO inspired plane. Of course, Sai likes it so much!

There is also a Build a Boat area. Here you can receive boat hulls and LEGO bricks so you can design and build your own unique boat that you can then race against friends and family and other LEGOLAND visitors. Also there are Stop&Go Games. Our little Sai enjoyed the car games in these mini street games π

Merlin’s Challenge ride inside the Knights Kingdom area is also fun. It is a mysterious wooden train powered by Wizardβs magic. It’s like a merry-go-round that looks like a mini roller coaster. I hate these spinning rides and these three loves it! π

The Dragon’s Apprentice ride is a real roller coaster. There are 2 types, the one for kids and one for adults. Designed for the youngsters but with the same thrills as The Dragon (this is the one for adults). “The friendly looking dragon train takes passengers up to the top of the castle ruins before it plunges in a spiral motion towards the ground. You will duck and dive and twist and turn around the castle grounds as you experience what itβs like to soar through the skies like a dragon.” As always, I don’t ride these coasters. I only take photos of Papa D, Ate Rei, and little Sai.

Splash Battle for me is the most memorable one. Everyone’s wet! hahaha! With eight pirate ship themed vessels in the water and eight budding pirates on board each ship, youβll be dodging water canons and getting hit from everywhere. Even people from outside the ride, like the ones in the shores, will hit you with water and will really make you wet. hahaha! We are not prepared for this. It’s a good thing there is a blower room near the exit so you can blow your wet shirts and let them dry fast.

The Ninjago area is also fun. We have tried the Jay’s Lightning Drill where you tap each button as they light up within 30 seconds! Train reflexes and concentration needed as a ninja, and aim for the highest points! That was fun. And this ride -> Lloyd’s Spinjitzu Spinners is one of Sai’s fave. Only Papa Dave and Sai had the courage to ride this one. You get to experience the spin techniques of LEGO NINJAGOβs Lloyd! Just pushing a button will create a thrilling 360-degree spin!

This is the Flying NINJAGO ride. Only Papa Dave had the courage to ride in this one. But he said it was fun and smooth, and not scary at all. You get to ride on a dragonβs back to fly through the skies like a ninja! “Those who are brave enough can spin 360 degrees while flying. A breathtaking ninja training attraction that flies through the air at heights of 22 meters and speeds of 50 kilometers per hour! Will you manage to ride it?” I’d pass, but I’m sure Ate Rei and Sai will ride that soon (there is a minimum height requirement).

Kai’s Sky Masters is another flying, shooting, relaxing ride. It’s like a ninja training that will take you to the skies with LEGO NINJAGO characters! Steer vehicles that can hold four family members and shoot at targets and other vehicles! Good family teamwork will result in more points! Aim for the highest points! We did not get the highest points but we sure did enjoyed the ride.

All the buildings and structures here in Legoland looks like they are made of big legos themselves. Colorful and fun to see specially for the kids. This might be my longest blog, whew! And we are not yet done.

We finally rested our tired feet and ate snacks. We had smoothies and just forgot to take a photo of it. It’s already in our tummies π After snacks, we went to a LEGO Factory Tour. What better way to learn how LEGO is made than to visit the LEGO factory and see it with your very own eyes. You can read the LEGO story on the walls and learn about the history of how it all started and how it has developed and has become so big over the years. During the tour you will get to see all the machinery that it takes to create the many different LEGO pieces that you will see in shops today and of course around the park. The tour will end with a parting gift – a fresh piece of LEGO right off the production line as a souvenir to take home. π

Submarine Adventure here we go! Join the LEGO divers on an exploration. Venture along a secret passage on a journey to the bottom of the sea and see if you can spot all the amazing creatures and incredible LEGO models in your search for ancient ruins.

All displays here are amazing. And the fishes are real. haha. I thought I can see fishes made of legos swimming in the water. It was really nice. And we were just the only ones in the submarine.

The Miniland is indeed another world inside Legoland. Where else can you see Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto and Nagoya all in one day? The area features 10 locations of amazing scenery and city skylines from coast to coast across Japan. All built out of LEGO bricks!

They have displays of the golden pagoda or ginkakugi in Kyoto. Other details of Osaka (I guess) and an amazing display of a stadium, complete with hundreds or thousands of people watching a baseball game.

Just look at the details of the Diet Building (I guess), the Shibuya Crossing, some famous Castle in Japan, buildings in Shinjuku, Tokyo Tower, and Tokyo Station. I’m just in awe with the deets!

Whoah! Did you see the Sky Tree? It is huge!

Sai’s favorite parts are the lego cars and trains. And also the Gundam lego near the Rainbow Bridge, he did remember that he saw it in person. I also like the one in Miyajima, I have also seen that in actual place, I would love to go back there.

Finally, I think I have posted about 30% of my photos here already. There are still tons of it but this gets so long. haha! The lazy me. That was an amazing day with Legoland Japan. I am sure we will enjoy it again and again. Hope we can go back soon!
