Our 165th entry in this blog is our trip to Plaridel’s Bawbawon Island, Misamis Occidental. This is my first time to visit this lovely island, even though I always spend my summer vacations in Plaridel since I was a kid. š Today is the last day for the year 2021. And this has got to end with a bang! We started the day with a boat trip to the island.

The weather today is very windy. There are still some weather disturbances from typhoon Odette. But we are still excited to go to the island even if the ocean waves looks scary. hehe.

These types of trips are not what we are used to. We are usually afraid of little boat trips as most of us do not know how to swim. hehe. So we always rely with our life jackets. And finally, after like 30 minutes of boat ride, we arrived at Bawbawon Island.

This place is truly a paradise. Just look at all the greens and the blues. How I wish to spend a week here!

It doesn’t have internet wifi, not even electricity. That is a very rare place to stay nowadays. You have nothing else to do but just to relax, talk with people, and bond with your families and relatives. š

The Bawbawon Island Resort is handled by a hotel in Plaridel, the Hotel Bijoux. We booked their day trip that includes the boat transfers, the Cabanas, and the lunch set. The package is actually generous and is perfect for family getaways.

The place is still so unspoiled and the isolated feel is just so real. I am always torn between sleeping, as it is a perfect place to rest, or explore the areas and the seas.

But I end up doing nothing. And that is the most relaxing feel. hehehe. I just looked at the entire place while sitting down and eating every food they have served. š

Just look at how delicious the meals are! š

We even did take-home of some of the foods as it is just so many. š There’s a separate basket for the fruits, the main dishes, and the dessert or some kakanins. Ugh! Just hoping this day will not end.

So after eating and swimming in the white sand beach, it is time to go back home to Looc, Plaridel, where our Lola Inday is waiting for us with more foods. hehehe. We needed to walk a little bit to meet with our boat man, as the ocean waves are getting more scary for their small boats. And that was our day trip to Bawbawon Island. Soon, when we go back to Plaridel, we will never miss to spend time in this paradise. š
