Our Trip to Bubba Gump

Our 216th entry in this blog is our trip to Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. in Tokyo Dome, Japan. This is not our first time as we always love to dine here. This is just the first time I took photos. haha 🙂

The line for this restaurant is always long. But we gained patience by lining up in good restaurants around Tokyo. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company is an American seafood restaurant chain inspired by the 1994 film Forrest Gump. As of this writing, 35 Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. restaurants operate worldwide. Only 3 of them is here in Japan.

We lined up outside, we are still lining up inside. We waited in line for about 45 minutes. Out of the 3 Bubba Gump restos in Japan, we have been to 2: here in Tokyo Dome, and the other one in USJ Osaka. The other one is in Lalaport Toyosu. That is also here in Tokyo. Hopefully we can visit there soon.

The Bubba Gump restaurant is named after the film’s characters Benjamin Buford “Bubba” Blue and Forrest Gump. In the film, Bubba suggested getting in the shrimping business and, ultimately, Forrest pursued the idea after Bubba’s death in the Vietnam War. They have this sign, the blue one says “Run Forrest Run”, and the red one says “Stop Forrest Stop”. If you want the waiters to stop at your table and take your orders, then you have to show the red sign.

The mascot of the chain is a shrimp named Shrimp Louie. Here is our little Sai posing as Forrest Gump. 🙂 After our sumptuous meal at Bubba Gump, we walked around Tokyo Dome area.

It so happened that there is a concert for Black Pink this afternoon/evening here in Tokyo Dome. A lot of fans are already lining up for the show.

Tokyo Dome is one of our go-to places for kiddie rides before. After our Sunday mass at Yotsuya, we sometimes stopped at Tokyo Dome for some carousel rides for Ate Rei and Sai. But now, they are no longer into kiddie rides. They now want UFO catcher games and Anime merchandise shopping (minus the shopping part, hehe). They want to look at new merch trends for the animes that they watch.

Our little Sai successfully got a new Tuna Toy which he named Tony. Lucky boy!
And that was our quick dine-in at Bubba Gump. For sure we will be back here, but I’m not sure if I am not lazy to take photos in these future visits. 🙂 Until next time.
