Our Trip to Oide Park

Our 236th entry in this blog is our first time visit to Oide Park in Hakuba, Japan.

We are supposed to go back to Hakuba Mountain Harbor, as Ate Rei and Sai wanted to try their giant swing. But since it is a weekend, a lot of people are lining up at the gondola area. And since we will also go back to Yokohama this afternoon, we decided to explore another place here in Hakuba.

Thankfully, walking around Hakuba is a marvelous experience. You will definitely be envious of the simple living paired with gorgeous views all year round.

We went to Oide Park. The park was created in collaboration with local residents and Hakuba Village from 2002-2007. This is now one of the representative tourist attractions of Hakuba Village.

The Oide Suspension Bridge over there is a pedestrian bridge and is a great place for people who walk while feeling the wind of Hakuba.

The recommended photo spot is the observatory in the park. It has a perfect view of the river with the snow capped mountains as backdrop. Just like a landscape painting we always do as kids. hehe.

I also see a lot of Cherry blossom trees, so this would also be a perfect view during Spring. How I’d love to go back here on spring time πŸ™‚

Thankfully, even though the place is remote, there will always be some vending machines available. It was a lovely walk around Oide Park. A very lovely village indeed. πŸ™‚
