Our 238th entry in this blog is our visit to Mama Mary in Simala Shrine. This has been Ate Rei and Sai’s 3rd visit, the first 2 visits was way back 2016 and 2018. Five years after and we are back! 🙂

This day is my 42nd birthday. Yay! So we started our trip to the South of Cebu at Simala Shrine. We are joined by the Londonios all the way from Manila. 🙂

Since it is a day after Christmas, a lot of people are lining up to give thanks to Mama Mary. Gooya and Lolo are not up to lining as we think it will take hours to reach the area where Mama Mary is. There has been a lot of changes from the last time we visited 5 years ago.

So we directly went up to the area where you can offer your prayers and light up colored candles. I think this is Hearty’s first time to visit. We also went inside the church for our own prayers. 🙂

That was our quick visit to Simala Shrine. We plan to visit again soon when it is no longer of peak times. I hope we can visit on a weekday so that the line will not last for hours. hehe. Until our next visit! 🙂
