Our Trip to SkyPark Observation Deck

Our 252nd entry in this blog is our first time trip to Singapore’s famous SkyPark Observation Deck in Marina Bay Sands. We are so amazed by the boat docked on top of three tall buildings! 🙂

The three towers are broader at the base and narrow as they rise. I imagined it to be scary while being on top, but everything is actually grand and amazing 🙂

The complex includes three towers topped by the Sands Skypark, a skyway connecting 340-metre-long with a capacity of 3,902 people and a 150 m infinity swimming pool, set on top of the world’s largest public cantilevered platform. We did not see the pool area as this is reserved for those having hotel rooms in Marina Bay Sands.

From their brochure: Explore the city from a new vantage point at 56 storeys high, where the scenic view of Singapore’s world-class cityscape is uniquely breathtaking. Feast your eyes on the lush Gardens by the Bay and the city’s iconic landmarks, such as the durian-shaped domes of the Esplanade.

The resort and SkyPark were officially opened on 23 and 24 June 2010 as part of a two-day celebration, following the casino’s opening on 27 April that year. The SkyPark opened the following day.

The SkyPark also has rooftop nightclubs such as Lavo (New York, Vegas) and Cé La Vi, gardens, hundreds of trees and plants, and a public observatory deck on the cantilever with 360-degree views of the Singapore skyline. Most of the SkyPark’s area is accessible only to hotel guests for security reasons.

It is a mix of relaxing feeling while on top, looking at the majestic views of Singapore, and also scary for me as I am not a fan of heights. hehe. All in all, a perfect place to visit and be amazed on how this place has come to life. Glad we went up and will do it again someday soon. 🙂
