Our 263rd entry in this blog is our trip to Night Safari in Mandai, Singapore.

Night Safari is the world’s first nocturnal zoo, located in Mandai, Singapore. One of the country’s most popular tourist attractions, it is one of five Mandai Wildlife Reserve parks, including Singapore Zoo, Bird Paradise, River Wonders, and the upcoming Rainforest Wild Park.

Before we start with any of the attractions, we made sure to eat first. hehe š

The concept of a nocturnal park in Singapore was suggested in the 1980s by the former executive chairman of the Singapore Zoo, Dr Ong Swee Law. The Night Safari was officially opened on 26 May 1994 and occupies 35 hectares of secondary rainforest adjacent to the Singapore Zoo and Upper Seletar Reservoir. The first time I visited Singapore’s Night Safari was still last 2008 with Gooya, Lolo, and Tita Karen. š

The Night Safari currently houses over 900 animals representing over 100 species, of which 41% are threatened species. The Creatures of the Night presentation is a popular highlight at Night Safari, highlighting animal conservation and sustainability efforts.

I was not able to take as many photos as I want since my phone is already low-batt from taking pictures of the animals at the Zoo and the River Wonders. hehe. And besides, it is difficult to take pictures on a moving vehicle with less to no light source. So I just took photos of the humans! hehe. That is Tito Eng, our local tour guide. haha š

So that is our quick tour at the Night Safari. We did see lots of animals, and they are not sleeping yet. š I hope to visit some time and make sure to take more photos.
