Our Trip to Yomiuriland

Our 285th entry in this blog is our trip to Yomiuriland in Inagi, Tokyo, Japan. I think this is our second visit, our first being 6 years ago already (2018). πŸ™‚

Yomiuriland first opened on 19 March 1964. Wow! That’s already 60 years ago. And the park is still clean and well maintained. Even the rides are up to date. πŸ™‚ We first had our lunch in the very first restaurant we saw from the entrance. We are already hungry!

This park is situated on hillsides, and features rides such as roller coasters and water flumes. It is home to Yomiuri Giants Stadium, one of the training fields for the Yomiuri Giants baseball team, and was the primary training ground before Tokyo Dome was completed.

Yomiuriland has 44 attractions from thrilling rides to family-friendly rides. It also has about 1,000 cherry blossoms during the spring. We haven’t tried being here on spring season. We have visited this place twice, and it’s all in Autumn, no other season so far. hehe πŸ™‚

During the summer, visitors can enjoy Pool WAI (Water Amusement Island), a water park for an additional fee. Since it is cold now, the waterpark is closed. But still very well lighted at night.

The last time we visited this place, it was not crowded at all. But since today is Sunday, all the lines are long, specially the ones that Ate Rei and Sai likes. hehe.

But we still managed to take on some rides after lining up for at least 30 minutes to an hour. The rides for the little ones are not that crowded though. Ate Rei and Sai used to love riding the mini roller coasters and other rides for little kids, but now, they want the big scary ones already.

We also visited the Hana Biyori garden park near Yomiuriland as it was just like 10 minutes walk (I think). Then we went back to Yomiuriland park using the Sky Shuttle gondola from the station to the park.

Then we continued on with the rides. This time with the big swing. πŸ™‚

Jewellimunation lights up the park with a massive LED display inspired by gemstone colors. These attraction each contain their own unique atmosphere and diversity in rides.

This jewellumination event happens every year and it has always been a famous attraction in this park. It’s like everything is transformed to a wonderland at night time. “-)

We ended our day with a dinner at one of the restaurants inside the park. πŸ™‚ And took a long walk from where we ate, up to the exit gates. Sai’s feet couldn’t take it anymore and wants to be carried. hehe. πŸ™‚ And that is our day visit to one of our fave parks, Yomiuriland. πŸ™‚
