Our Trip to Konashidaira Campground

Our 299th entry in this blog is our first time stay at Konashidaira Campground in Kamikochi, Nagano, Japan. 🙂

Konashidaira Campground is a popular campsite located in Kamikochi, Nagano, Japan, known for its beautiful natural setting and convenient facilities. It’s a great option for those looking for an affordable way to experience Kamikochi’s stunning scenery. The campground offers both tent sites and cabin rentals, and is a short walk from the Kappa Bridge.

We went to the campground first, left our things, and headed to the wild, haha! I mean headed out for the hike. 🙂 After our hike in the rain, we were greeted by the cozy comforts of the campground.

The campground is situated near Kappa Bridge in Kamikochi, offering easy access to hiking trails and scenic views. They provide essential amenities such as restrooms, a public bath, and a well-stocked shop.

The moment we got inside our cabin, we don’t want to go out in the cold anymore haha! 🙂

They offer tent sites and cabin rentals. The site provides access to various hiking trails, including those to Taisho Pond and Myojin Pond. We saw some tents when we got in the site, and unfortunately, due to the whole day rain, I don’t think tents are comfortable. We are so glad we got a cabin. 🙂

Papa Dave cooked our dinner of fried chicken and yakiniku. Everything’s yummy! After all that hike in the cold rain, everyone was hungry. 🙂

The only complain we have in our room is it doesn’t have its own toilet. Of course we already know about this before we booked, but we realized how important an indoor toilet is. haha! It was scary going out at night, in the rain, thinking that there might be a bear waiting for you somewhere! haha. There has been posted papers on bear sightings just a couple of days ago. Exciting right? 🙂

And that is our quick stay at Konashidaira Campground. We are now eyeing another cabin for us to stay next time. We make sure there is already a private toilet for us. haha! We hope to go back and we are excited for our next visit. 🙂
