Our 306th entry in this blog is our second time visit to Lake Kawaguchiko.

This is part of the places to go to see Mt Fuji where we joined a tour group together with Ate Rei’s school mates. 🙂 It’s a good thing it is no longer raining today. The flowers are so lovely to look at.

Ate Rei and Sai did not remember being here about 6 years ago. Lake Kawaguchi is located in the town of Fujikawaguchiko in southern Yamanashi Prefecture near Mount Fuji, Japan.

It is the second largest of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of surface area, and is located at the lowest elevation. It also has the longest shoreline of any of the Fuji Five Lakes. Unfortunately, Mt Fuji is hidden behind those cloud at our back. The first time we were here, it was also hiding from the clouds. huhu.

We are just glad it is not hot today as it is already summer. We still get to stay in the open. hehe.

As with the other Fuji Five Lakes, the area is a popular resort, with many lakeside hotels, windsurfing facilities, camp sites, and excursion boats.

Lake Kawaguchi is the most popular of the Fuji Five Lakes in terms of tourists, and has the most developed tourist infrastructure.

The area also serves as a major hub for those wishing to climb Mount Fuji during the climbing season (July and August), and is also popular with photographers due to the panoramic views of the mountain from the shore. And that is our quick visit to Kawaguchiko Natural Living Center. We sure hope to visit again someday with Mt Fuji already showing itself to us. 🙂
