Our 323rd entry in our digital diary is our first time visit to Le Petit Chef in Mactan, Cebu. This has been opened just 3 days ago (Oct 15, 2025) and we are so excited to try this kind of dinner show.

Le Petit Chef is a 6-centimeter-tall animated French chef created by the Belgian artists collective Skullmapping. We arrived early, in fact, we are the first ones to arrive in the restaurant.

We waited around 30 minutes before the show starts. The experience uses 3D projection mapping to bring the chef to life on your dining table, where he “cooks” your meal in a whimsical animated show before the real dish is served.

Most of the guests are here and we are so ready to eat and enjoy the meal. 🙂 Each course is paired with a short animated scene that tells part of a story, often themed around travel, culinary adventures, or historical journeys like Marco Polo’s Silk Road expedition.

After the first show (I have the videos posted in my facebook account. Unfortunately, I am just limiting our digital diary to photos only, to conserve storage space.), our meal finally arrived. It is super yummy that I immediately devoured the first course.

The table, plates, and even the tablecloth become part of the projection surface, creating a multi-sensory theatrical experience. Our second course is a seafood soup. It is all delicious I cannot think of any bad side to this meal.

Menus vary by location and theme, ranging from farm-to-table concepts to international cuisines like French, Japanese, Mexican, and Middle Eastern dishes. Our third course is chicken. This is also delicious, nothing was left on my plate. 🙂

Le Petit Chef has been hosted in over 66 locations worldwide, including luxury hotels, cruise ships, and pop-up venues in cities like Singapore, London, Dubai, and Nashville. This is the second restaurant in Philippines, where the first one is in Manila. Our fourth course is pork. Very very soft it melts in your mouth. 🙂

The experience is designed to be fun for all ages, with kid-friendly menus and shows available during lunch and high tea. But as always, Sai is not eating much when he sees new foods. hehe. We are just lucky that we were given a free plate of fries and chicken nuggets for him. 🙂 Our fifth and last course is dessert. We also get to design our own dessert. Ate Rei ate Sai’s dessert after he designed it nicely.

Shows typically last 1.5 to 2 hours, and guests are advised to arrive 30 minutes early to avoid missing any part of the show. We received a certificate after the dinner show, making us chefs as well. 🙂 The experience is indeed unforgettable. We really would like to try other places and stories with the Le Petit Chef. 🙂
