Our Trip to (watch) Disney On Classic

Our 341st entry in our digital diary is our first time experience to watch Japan’s Orchestra playing Disney songs. 🙂 We were so excited that we went out too early and we just walked by Ginza street just to kill the time. hehe.

Disney On Classic is Japan’s Premier Disney Orchestra Concert. It is one of Japan’s biggest Disney music events, performed by THE ORCHESTRA JAPAN with talented vocalists. It brings iconic Disney and Pixar songs to life in full symphonic style. We just strolled around the area before we went in to lineup in the event hall.

For 2025, it celebrated The Lion King’s Iconic Music. The 2025 theme was “Circle of Life – Feel the Love”, featuring classics like Circle of Life, Hakuna Matata, and Can You Feel the Love Tonight performed live with full orchestra and film visuals.

It’s Japan’s largest Disney Orchestra Tour. Disney On Classic 2025 marked its 23rd anniversary and remained Japan’s biggest Disney-themed orchestral tour, spanning 52 performances nationwide including major Tokyo halls.

Performed by New York Musical‑Theatre Vocalists, the 2025 cast featured talented vocalists from New York’s Broadway scene, delivering powerful, emotional performances that matched the grandeur of the orchestra.

The program was split into two magical acts. Act I (Symphonic Dream) included music from Mary Poppins Returns, Enchanted, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White, Big Hero 6, and Brother Bear. Act II focused entirely on The Lion King, supported by cinematic lighting effects.

Exclusive merchandise was a major highlight. Tokyo attendees could buy special 2025‑edition items: souvenir books, T‑shirts, tote bags, plush toys, chocolates, and themed keychains. It was indeed a very memorable show specially for us who love anything Disney. 🙂
