Our Trip to Sakuragicho Christmas Village

Merry Christmas everyone! Our 342nd entry in our digital diary is our trip to Sakuragicho on a Christmas Day December 25! yey. Sakuragicho is our favorite place in Yokohama. It is only a few minute-ride away from where we live. And we are so happy to spend our Christmas day here at the Red Brick right after we attended a Christmas Mass at Yotsuya, Tokyo. The photo on the left below is the Yotsuya church in Tokyo, and the the ones on the right are the Christmas feels in Sakuragicho going to the Red Brick building. 🙂

This year’s theme is Pokemon. The Pokémon-themed area, “Pokémon Happy Holidays”, debuted as part of the Christmas Market in Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse, running December 11–25, 2025. Admission to the Pokémon area was completely free, unlike the main market area which normally requires a small fee. This will be the last day of this event, and so we made sure to visit. 🙂

A giant illumination tree themed around Electric-type Pokémon including Pikachu, Dedenne, Mareep, and Mega Raichu X/Y, designed to look like they are generating the tree’s light. Best viewed after sundown due to special lighting effects. Well, that is not the tree, but I have a photo of it way down below. 🙂

The area transformed into a full Pokémon Christmas village, complete with festive decorations and cozy winter lighting.

A lot of people are in here today. We no longer went inside the Christmas Market area as a long line of people are still there waiting to get in.

A massive present-shaped installation filled with 350+ Pokémon plushies, creating one of the event’s most popular photo spots.

Styled to resemble Miare (Lumiose) City from Pokémon Legends. Offered hands-on demos of Pokémon Legends: Z-A on the Nintendo Switch 2 on select days. Below is the Pokemon Christmas Tree. 🙂

It’s a very cold night and we headed back near the station to look for warm meals. 🙂

This has always been our favorite place specially at night as the lights are amazing and perfect for photos. 🙂

And that is our quick visit the Red Brick for Christmas Day. We will surely be back here, our ultimate go-to place in Yokohama. 🙂
