Our Trip to Prince Shopping Plaza

Our 346th entry in our digital diary is our second time visit to Prince Shopping Plaza in Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan.

It was snowing heavily the moment we arrived in Karuizawa Station. Ate Rei and Sai is so happy to experience a snow that is quite fierce. hehe 🙂 But first things first, we need to have our lunch as we are already hungry after our 4-hour bus ride from our home station Tama-Plaza.

I don’t think I can get a decent shot of any of this place as I am also trying to hide from the cold wind. Sai hates it when the snow goes in to his head and eyes. hehe 🙂 But I’m sure he is enjoying the experience. This shopping area spans around 260,000 m² across beautifully landscaped grounds with open-air lawns, ponds, and scenic views of Mount Asama. The mountain in nowhere is sight today due to the heavy pour of snow.

Home to roughly 240 shops across five to ten uniquely themed zones, offering a variety of outlets, boutiques, and cafés. A lot of outdoor cafes and shops are deserted, but the indoor ones are packed.

Known as one of Japan’s largest resort‑style outlet malls, blending shopping with nature. Ideal for families and pet owners due to dedicated play areas, lawns, dog‑run, and kid’s park. This is also popular for a day trip from Tokyo: shoppers enjoy outlet prices on top brands amid a serene, resort-like atmosphere. We just couldn’t explore much on this snowy day. But we went back the next day to eat the crab pasta I have been eyeing since the day we arrived in this place. hehe 🙂

We’ll just visit this place again when all the snow clears up. 🙂 Or when we have the budget to come here again. hehe 🙂 For now, we will go and check-in to our hotel.

That is our very quick visit to the Shopping Plaza. We will be back sometime soon hoping for a better weather. 🙂
