Our 347th entry in our digital diary is our second time visit to Prince Snow Park in Karuizawa, Nagano, Japan. We are blessed with a beautiful sunny weather today compared to the snowy weather yesterday. Since it snowed heavily yesterday, this is the perfect time to visit Karuizawa’s Prince Snow Park. yay!

The official name for this place is the Karuizawa Prince Hotel Snow Resort (often called Prince Snow Park Karuizawa), located in Nagano Prefecture. It is quite crowded on this day compared to the last time we visited last 2020 (pandemic season, so not much crowd).

This snow park is known for artificial snowmaking, ensuring consistent conditions even with low natural snowfall. But it snowed hard yesterday, we got the powdery type of snow perfect for playing! π This is a beginner-friendly resort with gentle slopes and wide runs.

This park is suitable for first-time skiers, families, and children. They offer ski & snowboard lessons, including English-friendly options during peak seasons. For us, we did the sled and the tubing. π Sai is so excited with sledding that he always makes some exhibitions and eventually got out from his sled. haha!

They have a dedicated kidsβ snow play area (snow tubing, sledding, play zones). Rental equipment available for all ages. You can even rent the snow clothes so you don’t have to bring yours which is a very good help with traveling light. Easy access and minimal travel from Tokyo make it popular for day trips.

This has always been our favorite snow park. You can ski in the morning and shop in the afternoon at the adjacent outlet mall, very unique among Japanese ski resorts.

After our quick snow play, we got hungry and went to the outlets mall to look for lunch meals. π We really hope we can visit again in this snow park someday. Fingers crossed. π
