Our 92nd entry in this blog is our trip to Cebu’s very own Ocean Park. This is everyone’s first time to visit this park as it is still in its soft opening phase. But we have been to Manila Ocean Park which is much bigger than here in Cebu. This visit is through Ate Rei and Sai’s school field trip. And since the place is near our home, Gooya, Lolo, and Ate Gina is joining us. Here we have Ate Rei and Haley, one of her classmates who she met at the entrance of the park. And the whole crew as well, ready for today’s adventure! 🙂

Ate Rei and Sai are so happy to see the baby fishes. Most of the fishes as of this time are still small. We are excited to go back in a year or two to see how much they have grown 🙂

After we view the fishes displayed outdoors, we went in to see some animals and creepy crawlies.

Then we went up through an escalator for the bird feeding. I did not go with them to the bird feeding ‘coz… you know, I’m not fund of flying cuties. hehehe 🙂 After the bird area, Ate Rei and Sai headed to the Seven Seas.

It is really nice inside the seven seas. These are views we cannot see everyday. Views from under the sea which I cannot see in the real ocean since I cannot swim. Poor me. hehe… There is also a space in between the aquarium where you can pose like you are inside it. Cool.

The colors are so nice. It’s hard to believe that there are lots of colors under the ocean. I have always thought of it to be deep and dark. But with aquarium parks like these, we can see how wonderful life of Disney Princess Ariel must have been. lol 🙂

The corals are also big but I think these are just baby corals. How we wish we can see corals in the real ocean one day. Who knows 🙂

After exploring the insides of the park, we went out for fresh air. While having some snacks of iced tea and bread, we got the chance to see the manta rays being fed. Or maybe some of them are sting rays? I lacked research in this field. haha… The baby rays are already bigger than I thought.

We waited for a few minutes in their outdoor stadium for the bird show. The show was similar to the shows in Manila Ocean Park. But still Ate Rei and Sai were amazed and happy to see their favorite birds. I hope there will also be other shows like dolphin or sea lions. Ate Rei met her Grade 2 classmates after the show. Most of them went to the fish spa, but we are now hungry and wanted to move on. 🙂

The last area is the aquarium’s dome. It is larger than the one in Manila, but today, it is totally crowded. Don’t worry, we will visit again on our own and not in a field trip. We got our tickets on promo and we can go back anytime before their grand opening.

And lastly, we rested for a while in their indoor stadium-like space. It is relaxing in here, just looking at the slow-paced swimming fishes and the divers that are feeding them. Lucky guys! How I wish I can swim. lol 🙂

Before going home (actually we are going to SM Seaside for Lunch, or maybe in Il Corso) we stopped by their souvenir shop. Lots of fishy things and collectibles are here. Good thing is that you can go inside their shop even if you do not have tickets for the park. We did not buy anything today since there are lots of peeps in the cashier. Maybe next time.

And that was our first trip to Cebu Ocean Park. We will be back… maybe next week? 🙂
