Our 320th entry in our digital diary is our first time visit to Astoria Palawan in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. This may have been our best local vacation resort to date. Yay!

We were greeted by medals, haha, shell garlands. I think most fancy resorts do this, and since this is our first time to be welcomed with such memorable gesture, we were immediately excited and happy that we chose this resort. hehe π Astoria Palawan is an expansive eight-hectare resort set along the shores of the Sulu Sea in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

And then, we were seated at the lobby cafe at The Nest. We were super impressed that we were not only given juice, but it’s the yummiest welcome drink we got! It was like an ube shake, paired with puto cheese. Wow!

And then we walked to The Canopy building to see some adventure activities that they offer. We booked the free trip to a sand bar for Sunday. π

Since this is a very huge resort, you will need a lot of walking. hehe. We are now heading to The Reserve restaurant so we can have our lunch meal. We had a Puerto Princesa City Tour in the morning, and a 1.5-hour van ride to Astoria, so we are pretty famished by now. hehe. π

The place is really fancy, and every staff we meet greeted us with a warm smile. π The meal is also very yummy and you got a lot of a-la-carte choices.

Right after our lunch meal, we headed to our rooms. We got 3 rooms in all, 1 for us, 1 for gooya and lolo, and 1 for Tita Karen. Our room is so big and has a very nice flowery green wallpaper. Astoria Palawan offers a variety of accommodations, such as villas, alcoves, The Nest, and Premier rooms, styled with vibrant tropical colors and upscale touches.

Since our room is in a different building (we stayed in The Nest), we rode a golf cart car to Gooya and Tita’s rooms at The Alcove.

Gooya’s room is blue themed, while Tita’s room is yellow, with a mini sala. π After resting in our rooms for a bit, we changed to our swimming suits and headed to the pool.

We started at the pool fronting The Nest building. It is long and the water is not that cold. Very relaxing. π Astoria Palawan offers a serene getaway amid emerald forests, grasslands, and mountain views, aptly capturing Palawanβs natural charm as βthe Philippinesβ Final Frontier.β

And then we transferred to another pool fronting The Reserve restaurant. This is called The Pod Infinity Pool. Most of the beach resorts have coconut trees, but in here, it’s all Mango trees. With lots of mangoes in each tree. I wonder if it’s just free to get one. hehe. π

We stayed in this pool as this is fronting the beach, and Sai wants to play by the sandy seashore. π

While Ate Rei is strolling by the seashore looking for shells, Sai and Tito Dou are looking for soccer ball for them to play at the soccer goal net.

I bet Sai is so happy to play this soccer ball by the beach. That does not happen often. hehe. And I am just here under the mango trees, relaxing, and counting the hundreds of fruits hanging. π

Ate Rei is now playing the volleyball, Hearty is looking for shells, while Sai and Tito Dou is still in there one-on-one soccer match.

Gooya and Lolo is relaxing by the side of the pool with a huge pizza. π We then walked back to our rooms to change and rest for a bit.

At night, in time for dinner, we walked to the other side of the resort to try the foods at The Habitat restaurant.

The resort is very well-lighted at night. It feels like Christmas in here. You will never be afraid to go out at night as you will be entertained with a wide area all with light displays.

In going to The Habitat restaurant, we passed by the Halo Dome and the Premier Villas. They have another set of pools here which is quiet and looks fancy as well.

As always, dinner is superb! Everything tastes very delicious. I can say that the prices here are ‘sulit’. π We then went back to our rooms and rested for the night.

In the next day, it is is Tita Karen’s birthday. Yey! We headed to The Reserve restaurant for the breakfast buffet. Another yum morning!

There are a lot of choices in their breakfast buffet. But our little Sai only wants to eat their complimentary bread. haha. With all the choices, Sai always eats bread alone.

The staff sang a happy birthday song to Tita Karen, gave her balloons, and a free birthday cake. The cake is really yummy. π

After breakfast, we went to Astoria Palawan’s waterpark. I blogged about it right before this entry. hehe. Check it out!

We spent the afternoon at the resort’s recreation area. Everything here is free. There is no need to pay for any game and recreation activities, specially the karaoke rooms.

We spent most of our afternoon in the karaoke room. 2pm is very hot outside to do playground or pool, but it’s the perfect time to relax and sing our hearts out.

Ate Rei, Sai, and Hearty also tried out their free video games. They spent most of their time in here as they got tired of hearing us sing. haha.

And then, the old ones transferred to a smaller karaoke room while we went out biking. Hearty was sad as she doesn’t know yet how to bike.

After biking, we went to the blue bridge. π We call it the bridge to nowhere. hehe.

It was dizzying to walk on top of it. We are just lucky that the waves at this time is not that high. The walk became tolerable. I wonder how it will feel if the waves are higher. π

We relaxed by the beach for a bit. Played some games like sungka. And got ready for dinner. Wow! This is indeed a relaxing vacation. Play and eat, play and eat. haha.

If the breakfast buffet was great, the dinner buffet is amazing! I would really like to try most of the choices but it’s just too many. haha!

The birthday girl Tita Karen posing with the foods. I planned to get and make my own halo halo but I don’t think it can still fit in my tummy. huhu.

While having dinner, we were entertained by the fire dance show and some cultural dances as well. It was so fun as all the foreigners really went near the dancers to take photos of them. For us, we just stayed with our foods. haha.

We walked back to our rooms feeling very full. It might be difficult to sleep immediately, so we spent the night watching movies in our rooms. The next day is our check-out day. We are very sad to go out of this resort. But first, another round of buffet breakfast. π

And that’s our quick stay at Astoria Palawan. We really enjoyed every minute that we spent here in this resort. I hope they open a branch in Cebu. hehe. Hope we can visit again soon. π
