Our 378th entry in our digital diary is our second time visit to El Mar Resort in Sogod, Cebu. El Mar Resort is situated in Calumboyan, Sogod, Cebu, offering guests a peaceful coastal getaway away from the busy city centers. Our first visit here was 3 years ago (2023) but without Gooya and Tito Dou at that time. The resort is positioned along the shores of Sogod Bay, providing scenic ocean views and access to clear coastal waters.
We are all excited to start our stay as we were able to book the best room they have, the Presidential Ocean View Villa, the most luxurious accommodation at El Mar Resort, featuring spacious living areas, elegant bedrooms, private balconies, and breathtaking views of Sogod Bay. Designed for large families and groups, it combines privacy, comfort, and direct access to the resort’s beachfront amenities, offering an upscale tropical escape in northern Cebu.
The Presidential Villa is considered the most exclusive accommodation category at El Mar Resort, designed for guests seeking privacy, space, and luxury. The villa is intended for larger families, reunions, corporate retreats, and group vacations that require exclusive use of a premium space.
The villa enjoys direct views of the sea, allowing guests to wake up to panoramic views of Sogod Bay. Photos of the villa show a large multi-story structure with expansive indoor and outdoor living areas, making it noticeably larger than the standard resort rooms.
The villa includes dedicated sitting and lounge spaces furnished with wicker furniture and resort-style interiors for group gatherings and relaxation. Guests can enjoy elevated balconies and terraces overlooking the ocean, perfect for sunrise viewing and scenic photography.
The bedrooms feature king-sized beds, air-conditioning, quality linens, and large windows that maximize natural light and sea views. Unlike standard guestrooms, the villa offers greater privacy, making it popular for special occasions and VIP stays.

The moment we arrived, Ate Rei has been changing to pool clothes and immediately dipped in the pool.
Followed by Sai and Hearty. They enjoyed the pool while waiting for some snacks to be served. hehe 🙂
El Mar Resort markets itself as a beachfront retreat where visitors can enjoy relaxing sea views and a tranquil atmosphere. Guests traveling by land can reach the resort in about three and a half hours from Cebu City. I did not join in the pool as I was still so tired from driving almost 4 hours due to traffic.
Thankfully, snacks just arrived! Pizza-time 🙂
We went out to look for dinner. We were escorted by their tram to tour the entire place as well. Visitors are treated to a combination of lush greenery, coastal landscapes, and beachfront views.
But it seems like its gonna rain, and it may be difficult for Gooya to go back in the Villa when it rains, we just ordered the meals to be delivered in our Villa. Yay! While waiting, we played Switch games in the play/entertainment room.
Dinner is served! Guests may order meals directly to their accommodations through the resort’s room service option.
We enjoyed our dinner from the comforts of our own private place. What a luxury! 🙂
After dinner, we continued playing switch games and headed for sleep. Ready for tomorrow’s pool time, again! 🙂
