Our 369th entry in our digital diary is our first time trip to Kandaya. Kandaya Resort is located in Daanbantayan, northern Cebu, along a white-sand beachfront.

We love our room here in Kandaya. We stayed in one bungalow house with 3 bedrooms. The Adelfa Family Villa is designed for families or groups, measuring 73 square meters, accommodating up to six adults, and featuring one queen bed and two single beds with pull-out beds. Guests also enjoy complimentary access to the game room, gym, kayak, paddleboard, and sports courts.

We are a total of 9 pax in this room and we are very comfortable. We watch movies every night in the sala. 🙂

Kusina Restaurant is the resort’s signature dining venue. We had our dinner here on our first day that we arrived in the resort. They don’t actually have other restos, only this one.

The resort was named after Datu Daya, an ancient tribal chieftain and protector of old Bantayan. So this place is “Kang Daya”. It means that it belongs to Daya, the Datu Daya.

It offers a combination of luxury, relaxation, adventure, and wellness experiences.

The property spans a large tropical beachfront estate with views of nearby islands. We loved walking along the beach sand barefoot.

Kandaya is approximately a 3-hour drive from Mactan-Cebu International Airport. But from our place in Punta Princesa, it’s a 4-hour drive. But we did a stopover at Danao for lunch. It’s a good place to stretch your back and feet and fill your tummy before continuing the long drive.

After breakfast, we explored the bachfront, and went back to our villa to prepare for a dip in the pool. 🙂

We brought Gooya’s wheelchair and Sai loves to drive it. We are now heading to the pool! 🙂

The resort features a large beachfront swimming pool overlooking the sea.

Guests can enjoy a pool with panoramic ocean views.

Several villas come with their own private plunge or dipping pools. But ours doesn’t have. Maybe they don’t have the one with 3 bedrooms plus its own pool. That would be amazing though!

The pool area is conveniently located near the main restaurant and beach. The beachfront pool is popular for relaxing while watching both sunrise and sunset views.

After swimming, we had our lunch in their restaurant. Kusina promotes a garden-to-table dining concept using fresh, local ingredients.

And then in the afternoon, we explored the vast area of the resort.

The resort has a dedicated children’s playground. There is also an indoor children’s playroom for younger guests.

Kandaya features Kuwadra, its own horseback-riding facility. The stable houses approximately nine horses. Guests can book guided horseback rides around the property. The resort offers private riding lessons for beginners and enthusiasts. Children can join the Pony Club experience, which includes pony rides and horse-care activities.

Families can enjoy a game room with billiards, foosball, air hockey, and table tennis.

Ate Rei enjoyed playing billiards while Sai enjoyed playing darts. Gooya enjoyed sitting down, watching us, while everyone else tried different games in the room. There was table tennis, basketball, and digital games as well.

Sports facilities include a basketball court, volleyball area, tennis court, and gym. Everyone spent at least 2 hours in the game room until we already felt hunger. hehe.

The restaurant serves a variety of wholesome and nutritious meals. Guest reviews frequently highlight the restaurant’s quality and menu selection. After dinner, we watched another Netflix movie in the living room. 🙂

In the morning, we went to the beach area. The shallow beachfront waters near Kandaya are generally calm and family-friendly, making them suitable for children to enjoy. This is going to be our last day here and we will be checking out by lunch time.

We checked-out and ate lunch at the nearby Jollibee. And we are now going for our 4-hour ride back home. 🙂 We hope to be back again here someday soon. Until next time Kandaya. 🙂
