Our 375th entry in our digital diary is our nth time trip to our favorite resort, JPark Island Resort, in Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu. This trip is for Gooya’s 73rd birthday, and since it is a long weekend, we stayed here for 2 nights. yay!

Jpark describes itself as the Philippines’ only 5-star-rated resort and waterpark, combining luxury accommodations with family-oriented water attractions. The check-in took so long. Maybe because it is a long weekend, and people are just staying in resorts at these times. hehe. Our family pool villa was not yet ready, so we were brought to a holding room, a jacuzzi villa.

The Jacuzzi Villa is designed as a private retreat for couples or two guests. It has one bedroom and emphasizes privacy and relaxation. The Jacuzzi Villa measures 80.4 square meters, giving guests considerably more private space than a typical hotel room. We stayed here for a few minutes, so we just watched TV and relaxed for a bit. 🙂

We were finally led to our own room, the family pool villa. The Family Pool Villa is a two-bedroom villa, designed specifically to provide families and groups with a more private resort experience.

I can surely say, this is the best room we have tried in JPark, so far. It even has its own kitchen, a living room, 2 bedrooms with its own toilet and bath, and another toilet by the sala. The Family Pool Villa measures 96.7 square meters and has its own private pool, which is one of its biggest advantages for families who want privacy.

For our first night, we did not even want to go out of our villa. We just stayed inside and ordered room service foods. We were also given generous items as welcome gifts and lots of drinks. 🙂

We started our morning with, of course, breakfast. We are now headed for the breakfast buffet. yey!

Excited for breakfast! The Abalone is Jpark’s international buffet restaurant and is one of the resort’s main dining options.

Breakfast is served buffet-style at The Abalone. The resort’s current restaurant page lists The Abalone as operating from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM for its morning service.

After breakfast, we walked around the resort a bit, then headed to our own pool. 🙂

Jpark lists the Family Pool Villa as accommodating 4 adults and 2 children, making it one of the more spacious choices for families traveling together. There are only 2 Family Pool Villas at JPark. If you want to stay in one, make sure to reserve it way before your planned trip as it can easily be sold out.

We really enjoyed our pool, it is way bigger than the ordinary pool villa. This is a perfect size for the entire family to swim. After our private pool time, Lolo and Sai went out to go to the kiddie pool and the lazy river.

Children have dedicated water attractions, including Captain Hook’s Pool, which features a pirate ship, mini slides, and splash features, as well as a separate Toddler’s Pool. There main pool is by the center area of the park. Jpark’s Island Pool is its main swimming pool. It includes activities such as water basketball and water volleyball, mini waterfalls, and a swim-up pool bar. But Sai’s favorite is the lazy river.

There is much more to do than swimming. Jpark offers recreational facilities and activities such as mini golf, giant chess, go-kart biking, water biking, a gym and fitness center, and various beach and water activities.

After our fun in the pool, we went out to have lunch at Mr. Crab Agus. It’s crab time! 🙂

Mr. Crab – Agus is a casual, family-friendly seafood restaurant in Agus Gamay, Lapu-Lapu City. It specializes in crab and Filipino-style seafood dishes, making it a good choice for families and groups looking for generous, shareable meals. Its standout dish is the Butter Garlic Crab, while seafood can also be prepared in flavors such as chili garlic, Cajun, and pepper oyster. The menu includes other seafood favorites such as shrimp, scallops, mussels, and halaan, along with dishes like pork barbecue, crispy pata, sweet-and-sour shrimp, and cheese scallops.

After our sumptuous lunch, we head back to our villa and just watched movies and TV in the afternoon. It was hot outside so we just wanted to be lazy and stayed in the comforts of our rooms 🙂 And then for dinner, we went to the nearby Nonki restaurant.

After dinner, we watched the shows by the pool. One of the highlights of an evening at Jpark is its Fire Dance performance. Skilled performers combine energetic choreography with dazzling fire displays, creating an exciting nighttime spectacle for resort guests. According to Jpark, fire dance performances are part of its daily entertainment lineup. The performance is also known as the Amigos Fire Dance and has been staged around the resort’s Island Pool area.

And then for our Day 2 morning, as always, it starts with breakfast buffet. Followed by a quick dip at the pool. We are now preparing for checkout. Today is now Gooya’s birthday. yay! 🙂

After checkout, we went to another seafood restaurant very near JPark, it’s the Buko Seafood Restaurant.

Buko Seaside Bar and Restaurant is a relaxing waterfront restaurant in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, known for its beautiful ocean views, fresh seafood, and Filipino, Asian, and Thai-inspired dishes. Its open-air seaside setting makes it especially enjoyable for family meals, dates, and casual dinners by the water. For the food, some highlights include seafood platters with crab and lobster, baked scallops, seafood paella, pineapple rice, steaks, and barbecue dishes. Tropical drinks and shakes also complement the seaside atmosphere.

And that’s a wrap. Long weekend well spent indeed. 🙂
